Design Intelligence Award (DIA) is one of the first international academic awards in industrial design, created to celebrate innovativeness and entrepreneurship. Hosted by China Academy of Art and located in Hangzhou where innovation is booming, DIA is not only an award, but also a channel to the Chinese industry network and infrastructure, as well as the Chinese market and business. Such a holistic approach sets the DIA distinctly apart from other awards programs, recognizing the role that design can play in achieving real change and creating a Community of Practice that is not found anywhere else.
At the Dutch Design Week 2021, the Design Intelligence Award (DIA) celebrates innovators and entrepreneurs’ imagination and inventiveness. During the past years, the DIA collected over more than 30.000 excellent works within four categories: Industrial Equipment, Living Wisdom, Cultural Innovation and Digital Economy from 61 countries and regions worldwide. The DIA provides a platform to accelerate international trade, provide networking opportunities and open commercial opportunities for enterprises.
During the DDW, the Design Intelligence Award and the Foundation Design Promotion in Europa and China exhibits a selection of this year’s Dutch entries and last year’s award winners. These projects excelled on the DIA’s evaluation criteria.
Expect a surprising and exciting mix of excellent Design entries spanning a broad range of design disciplines and sectors.

Design Promotion and IFIP TC14 WG7 “Art and Entertainment” will organize a workshop on the topics of “Design with Interactivity and Connectivity” at the DAPI 2021 conference on July 24-29 in Washington DC, USA.
The new industrial revolution driven by digital media, data, and the Internet of Things forms a key foundation of interaction and connectivity that has a great impact on the way people live, and the way businesses are organized. We are interested in the systems exhibiting both continuous (in physical and social spaces) and discrete (in cyberspaces) dynamic behavior, giving rise to not only new opportunities but also new challenges in designing products and services where human and technical aspects are massively intertwined.
